20 Week Ultrasound

We went for our big ultrasound this afternoon. During this ultrasound the doctor checks for heart defects, cleft lip, bone growth, etc. The doctor says the baby looks healthy and normal. I was so relieved. Our little sweetpea weighs approximately 11oz. and is about 7in tall from head to rump. We closed our eyes when the doctor was assessing the below the belt region. So the sex of the baby is still a mystery. I guess we will all have to wait until May!

20 Week Progression Picture

Can you say, Holy Cow!!! My stomach has doubled in size just in the past week. I can't believe it! I guess it was going to happen one day. I am still having a great pregnancy with no problems. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will stay that way.

Doctor's Visit

This visit was pretty uneventful. I heard the baby's heartbeat, which was 152 bpm. Some say this means a girl, because the heartbeat is over 140 bmp. We will have to wait and see in May. Our next appointment is Monday Dec 22, which will be the BIG ultrasound.

16 Week Progression

It is official. I am definitely starting to show, especially at night. I guess after all that eating your belly tends to poke out more. I can't complain, though. I am still feeling great and have not had any problems.

Doctor's Visit

Today I went to the doctor. It was pretty uneventful. We listened to the baby's heartbeat and the doctor said everything was fine. The big 20wk ultrasound is schedule December 22nd. For all those wondering we are not going to find out the baby's gender. We are keeping it a surprise!

Girls Trip

Annually, my college friends and I have a girls trip. This year my friends and I took a trip to Destin. The group was small this year, but we had a great time. This was the first time I went to Destin and didn't step foot on the beach. The weather was quite chilly, so we went shopping at the outlets. The trip was very relaxing and a lot of fun. I look forward to the next one.

Trick or Treating with Emma

A friend of mine works at an Ochsner clinic. They were hosting a Halloween party for kids. The doctors and nurses dressed in costumes and handed out candy. Emma made some new friends and took home a bag full of candy. I don't know who had more fune, me or Emma.

Doctor Visit

I went to the doctor today for my 12 week visit. The doctor surprised me and did another ultrasound. It was amazing, because you could see the baby's face, hands, and legs. The baby was moving like crazy. The doctor said it was a very dramatic baby, so its definitely my kid. :) I also heard the heartbeat. The baby is now a whopping 5.33cm or about 2 inches long. The doctor said everything looks great. Here is the newest ultrasound. If you look close, you can actually see the face.

House Progression

This is the spare bathroom. Jude built this vanity by himself. Who knew my husband was a furniture maker. He really did a great job.
This is the master bathroom. The large hole is where the tub will be soon.

This is the dining room. The door you see is the front door.

This is the den to the right of the dining roon when you walk through the front door.

This is our brand new countertops. They look great. Jude picked them out.
Our to do list is definitely getting shorter. Jude predicts we will be moving in a couple of weeks. We still have to finish the front and back porches, faucets, set the tub, and paint touch ups. Everyone is pitching in to help get us moved in as soon as possible. Mike came out this weekend for a little manual labor.

Baby Progression

12 weeks

I can't believe its 12 weeks already. I have been feeling great!!! Although I do get frustrated when trying to find something to wear. I am in that in between stage, where your clothes don't fit and you are not ready for maternity gear. I am sure my time will come.

House on Louisville

This is where we began almost a year ago: Front

Back

Jude has been working very hard this past year. We have come leaps and bounds. Unfortunately Jude has been basically a one man show, so progress was slow. Thankfully, my Dad and Mr. Jude have helped along the way. We are now a couple of weeks away from finishing. We are awaiting countertops, front steps, porch banisters, and few other things. I am so excited to be almost finished. I am ready to get my husband back. So here are some of the recent pictures.

Progression Picture

So here I am at 10 weeks. There has definitely been some changes. My clothes are not quite fitting as well and I had to move up a size in pants already. As you can see by the downward angle of the photo, Jude took it. Next time I am going to a professional, my Mom. Perhaps she can get a more flattering angle. :)

Ultrasound

Today Jude and I went to the doctor and recieved our first baby picture. Our little one is just 2cm longs with a visible heartbeat. It was reassuring to see an actual baby. I have been very lucky thus far and have not had any usual pregnancy symptoms. So seeing the baby was great confirmation.

Telling Ms. Pam

Unfortunately Jude's mom, Ms. Pam, was out of town for my birthday party. So today Jude and I paid her a visit. I brought a grandparent magazine that the doctor's office had given me. I handed her the magazine so she couldn't see the title. She read the title and looked confused, but then it clicked. She was extremely excited and mad at Mr. Jude for not telling her the news. Mr. Jude came to the birthday party and swore not to tell.

Telling the Parents

Mom and Dad had a little birthday party for me at their house, which was the perfect time to spill the beans. I showed my Mom all the baby presents I had bought my cousin Michelle. I handed her a book entitled Grandma's Brag Book. She looked confused, so I explained. This was for her pictures of Jude and I's baby. She immediately started to cry. Unfortunately my Dad had walked out the room to grab me a beer. He handed my the beer and I said "I can't have that." He says "Are you trying to tell me something?" My response "Yep, I'm having a baby." I can't tell you what he said in response. Needless to say everyone is extremely excited.

We're Pregnant

Today I took a pregnancy test and it was positive. I couldn't believe it!!! I ran through the house yelling "Jude" and showed him the test. He immediately was excited, since the test simply read "pregnant."
