The Eye Doctor

Xander and I went to see an opthamologist yesterday. The MD confirmed the blocked tear duct and suggested some solutions. The easiest was for the MD to break the membrane blocking the tear duct. Thankfully the completed the procedure in another room and brought Xander back. He survived the procedure with a couple of tears and a bloody nose. I don't know who was more traumatized, him or me.
This morning Xander woke up as usual. The procedure seems to have left no residual affects. Thank goodness. I am glad to have it behind us.

Xander's 9 & 10th month

Sorry for the late entry. Things have been hectic, to say the least. Xander is growing up so fast. He has all kind of new tricks. He just started crawling on his hands and knees rather than the army crawl. He also has been pulling up to a standing postion. His balance isn't quite there yet, so he needs assistance standing. He has also starting to eat table food. I call Xander my little mooch. You cannot eat anything without him wanting to try it.

We went to the doctor for his nine month check up. He is healthy and growing. He is not measuring up to his daddy, though. Xander weighed in 21.7 lbs and measured 29.5". His daddy was 32" and 27lbs. Xander still has a blocked tear duct on the left eye. We are going to see an ENT doctor sometime this month. It makes me nervous to think about it.

Here are some pictures over the past two months. We have been busy, but still have time for fun.

Xander's first Mardi Gras.

Xander crawling around at Nana & Papere's house.

Playing with cousin Emma at her new house.

Riding in the wagon with cousing Emma.

Xander's new favorite toy, the ball.

Relaxing at City Park under the oak tree.

At the park with my cousins, Blake & Kati.
Hanging out for the St. Patty's day parade.

We are having such a great time with Xander. I am sure it won't be long and I will be blogging Xander walking. How time flys!!!

Xander 8 months

Xander 8 mths
Xander is getting so big so fast. He is now wearing 12-18mth clothes. Since Christmas he got another tooth, so he now has two teeth . He also started "crawling." I use the term loosely. His crawl is a mixture of techniques: swimming/army crawl/slithering. I have to admit it gets him where he wants to go and great entertainment to watch.
Xander "crawling"
Xander's favorite toy is Dakota. The poor dog. Every chance Xander has he "crawls" to get Dakota. He likes to "pet" her. Pet her meaning grab her tail, chunk of skin, or paw. She is a great dog and takes it like a champ.
We are looking forward to Xander's next developmental milestones. I am sure he will start really crawling soon.

Xander's 1st Christmas

Christmas was so much fun this year. Unfortunately Xander didn't understand the concept of opening presents. He just put everything in his mouth as usual. Xander cut his first tooth the day before Christmas. Here are some pictures from our Christmas activities. Christmas morning opening a present from Santa.

Enjoying his new toy from Nanny Corey and cousins, Kati and Blake.
Trying to learn a thing or two from cousin Emma.
Now he gets it!
We enjoyed spending time with our families. I am already looking forward to next year!

Xander's 6th and 7th Month

Sorry for the delay, but Xander, school, and work has been taking all my time.

Xander is doing great. We went for his 6mth check and he is right on target with development. He was 28 1/2 in and 19.8lbs. He has definitely surpassed that now. We just bought him a new car seat, because he out grew the old one. We also had to buy new clothes, size 12mths, because he has gotten so big.

Xander has become a little chatter box. He babbles all the time. I swear he says "Mama" and "Dada," but I am told it is just coincidence. He loves to roll all over the place. Rolling is how he gets from point A to point B. He also has likes to grab and reach for things then put them in his mouth. We had to "child proof" the house for his safety and our sanity. Here are a couple of pictures from the past month.

Xander handling power tools already!!! Daddy is so proud.

My boys!

A few of Xander's favorite pass times:

Eating his toes!

Playing in his exersaucer.

Jumping in his Jumparoo!

Xander has been eating solid foods this past month. Here he is eating carrots.

Xander is getting so big. Poor Emma can barely hold him.

He is learning and accomplishing things so fast. I can't wait to see what is in store for next month.

Halloween

Xander was a monkey for halloween this year. We went over to Jason's house for a halloween party. We had a great time. I definitely ate enough candy and sweets for Xander and I both. Maybe next year he can enjoy the festivities a little more.

Xander 5 moths

I can't believe Xander is already five months. I know I say that every month, but time just flies by. He is so much fun. It seems that he always has a smile on his face. His laugh is so cute and contagious. He rolls over from back to belly, but can't figure out belly to back. He gets so frustrated and freaks out until you turn him over. We started him on rice cereal this week. The first couple of times I think he had more on him then he did in his mouth. Xander on his play mat.

Xander enjoying a little "tummy time."

Xander eating cereal for the first time.

Destin

We went to Destin for my cousin Troy's wedding. We had a great time. We stay at the same place as our honeymoon. How romantic!!! These are some pictures of Xander at the beach. He definitely did not like the water. I think it scared him.
This is how we spent out time at the beach.

This is my favorite picture.
Emma and Jude had a great time in the water. She is getting so big.

4 months

Xander is getting to be so big. He measured 18.3 lb and 26 1/2 in. at his 4mth appointment. He is in the 95 percentile for height and weight. The pediatrician said Xander is doing really well. He is becoming such a "ham." I swear he knows to smile when there is a camera. We can thank Nana for that.

"Tummy Time"

Laughing at Uncle Mike

Only a face a mother could love.

Emma still adores Xander. It's adorable!

Xander 3 Months

Xander keeps getting bigger and bigger. We went to the doctor at 12 weeks and he was 16.4 lbs and 251/2 inches. He continues to be in the 90th percentile.
He has a lot of new tricks this month. He can hold his rattle and shake it. He blows bubbles and makes rasberry noises. He also babbles and coos. The best is he laughs, but only a few times.

He is humongous!

My favorite outfit. Jude thinks he looks like a little preppy.

Xander's big belly. He loves being naked already.

Xander at 2 months

I cannot believe Xander is 2 months. It seems like just yesterday we brought him home from the hospital. He currently weighs 14 lb 4oz and is 24 inches long. He is in the 90th percentile for both. He is definitely more interactive this month. He can see you, smiles, and coos. It is awesome! He loves music. I make a fool out of myself singing to him. Jude is the human boom box. It is crazy the things you will do for a smile.

Xander's wonderful smile.

He used to look so small compared to his bobby pillow.
This month Xander has found his hands. He loves to suck on them.
Bath time!

We have definitely found a nighttime routine. Routine starts at 8pm, bath, bottle, and bed. Xander is almost sleeping through the night. WHOOO HOOOO!!! This is Xander after his bath. Too cute, right?

Emma loves Xander

Emma absolutely adores her cousin, Xander. She hugs and kisses on him everytime she see him. Her favorite thing is to hold him. Here is a video of her singing to Xander. It is so cute.
